SBA Lending

As part of its commitment to small businesses, American Business Bank offers U.S Small Business Administration (SBA) loans. Our lenders have over 20 years of experience in supporting small businesses through the SBA loan programs. American Business Bank provides superior service working with small business clients to determine the type of loan best suited for their needs, making the loan application process as seamless as possible.

The SBA and Your Business

Recognizing that small businesses are the foundation of our country, the U.S. Small Business Administration was created in 1953 to further the growth and development of small businesses. One of the ways it does this is by guaranteeing loans to small businesses made through lending partners nationwide. The SBA does not make loans directly to small businesses. Rather, it sets guidelines for loans, which are made by lending institutions nationwide.

SBA Loan Programs

SBA 504

The SBA 504 Loan Program is designed to assist small businesses in financing major fixed asset purchases, such as real estate or equipment. It allows borrowers to complete financing with smaller down payments and no balloon payments, typically found in conventional financing.

  • Project size from $250,000 to $25,000,000
  • As low as 10% down on total project
  • Ideally used for owner-occupied real estate purchase or refinance

SBA 7(a)

The 7(a) Loan Program is the SBA’s most common loan program. It allows for various uses of proceeds and has favorable terms, allowing small businesses to keep their cash flow for operational expenses, spending less of debt repayments.

  • Loan amounts up $5,000,000
  • Loans typically have longer maturities with less money down.
  • Ideally used for real estate and equipment purchases, business acquisition, and expansion.
